Applications are invited from the eligible Indian citizen
and permanent residents of Assam for filling up 7249 vacant posts of (1) Graduate Teachers (Arts), (2) Graduate Teacher (Science), (3) Graduate Teacher
(Hindi) and (4) Graduate Teacher (Sanskrit) of the different Provincialised Secondary Schools under the Directorate of Secondary Education, Assam.

The District-wise, subject-wise, medium-wise and category-wise posts details as well as date and time of receipt of online applications for TET cum Recruitment Test and other details will be notified in the official website at www.madhyamik.assam.gov.in in due course of time. Vacancies may vary due to administrative reasons. The Director of Secondary Education, Assam reserves the right to make changes in sequence of the recruitment process after publication of this advertisement. The Director of Secondary Education, Assam reserves the right to cancel or postpone the recruitment at any stage without assigning any reason. The aspiring candidates must be ready to serve in their respective places of posting in terms of choice of their Districts.

A. Qualifications for Graduate Teacher (Arts & Science) :
  1. For the post of Graduate Teacher (Arts), the candidate must be Arts / Commerce Graduate or PostGraduate in Arts / Commerce having from recognized University with at least 50% marks in eitherGraduation or Post Graduation (or its equivalent) and Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) from NationalCouncil for Teacher Education recognized Institution(s).
  2. For the post of Graduate Teacher (Science), the candidate must be Science Graduate or Post Graduate inScience having from recognized University with at least 50% marks in either Graduation or PostGraduation (or its equivalent) and Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) from National Council for TeacherEducation recognized Institution(s).
  3. As per the Assam Secondary Education (Provincialised Schools) (Amendment) Service Rules, 2021, those institutions having territorial jurisdiction outside the State of Assam but having a study centre in the State and such study centres if not recognized by DEC under UGC, the degrees / certificates issued by such off campus institutions shall not be considered as valid for the purpose of employment under Education Department. However, degrees / diplomas conferred by KKHSOU, IGNOU, IDOL under Gauhati University and Distance Education under Dibrugarh University shall be considered as valid for the purpose of employment.

B. Qualifications for Graduate Teacher (Hindi) :
  1. Pravin / Ratna in Hindi with 50% marks and degree qualification with 50% marks or post Graduate degree in Arts with 50% marks from any recognized University, Or BA with 50% marks and having Hindi as one of the subjects with 50% marks or post Graduate in Artswith 50% marks provided that he has passed BA with one of the subjects as Hindi with 50% marks inHindi.
  2. B.T. / B.Ed. degree from any recognized University (PARANGAT to be treated as B.Ed. degree only forthe purpose of Hindi teaching).
  3. As per the Assam Secondary Education (Provincialised Schools) (Amendment) Service Rules, 2021, those institutions having territorial jurisdiction outside the State of Assam but having a study centre in the State and such study centres if not recognized by DEC under UGC, the degrees / certificates issued by such off campus institutions shall not be considered as valid for the purpose of employment under Education Department.   1. Shastri with 50% marks and having degree qualification with 50% marks or post Graduate degree in Artswith 50% marks from any recognized University, Or BA with 50% marks and having Sanskrit as one of the subjects with 50% of marks or Post GraduateDegree in Arts with 50% marks in Sanskrit.
  2. B.T. / B.Ed. degree from any recognized University.
  3. Most Important :

  1. The applicants are requested to visit www.madhyamik.assam.gov.in regularly for any update.
  2. Corrigendum and addendum will be published as and when required in the official website at www.madhyamik.assam.gov.in.
  3. Documents uploaded as mentioned below should be coloured scanned and clear in PDF format while uploading and applying online and all documents should be self attested.

How to apply:

  1. Interested candidates are requested to go through the terms and conditions of the advertisements and may apply through the official website at https://madhyamik.assam.gov.in.
  2. No other means/ mode of Application will be accepted and the Application will be summarily rejected.
  3. The Online Application will be accepted from 21st October 2024 (11.30 AM) to 15th November 2024 (midnight).
  4. No Multiple Applications shall be accepted.
  5. For any other issues related to online application, further instruction shall be intimated through application portal only.

Examination Fee:

Additional Information:

  1. The degrees/ programmes/ courses duly recognized by the UGC shall onlybe accepted.
  2. The District-wise, Medium-wise, Subject-wise and Category-wise break-up of advertised vacancies will be notified in the official website at https://madhyamik.assam.gov.in in due course of time.
  3. There will be no preference of Districts for appointment. It will be decidedby way of randomization.
  4. The examination will be of 2½ hours duration and will consist of 140questions of 1 mark each.
  5. There shall be negative marking of 0.25 marks per question for wronganswer as well as selecting more than one option of a question.
  6. Question paper will be given in multi-lingual form, viz. Assamese,Bengali, Bodo, English medium, however in case of confusion/discrepancies, the English version shall be treated as authentic version.
  7. No TA/ DA will be admissible for appearing in the Examination.
  8. The Examination Venue district will be Cachar, Dibrugarh, Jorhat,Kamrup, Kamrup Metro, Kokrajhar, Lakhimpur, Nalbari and Sonitpur. Candidate will have to select his/ her Examination Venue district during filling up of online application form.
  9. All the applicants should have Employment Exchange Registration Number. However, those who have applied for the Registration Number but not yet received, they will also be allowed to apply but they have to obtain Employment Exchange Registration Number mandatorily before appointment.
  10. There will be a common Recruitment Test for all Graduate and Post Graduate Teachers, both for Government and Provincialised Schools. Hence, a final merit list will be prepared in respect of Government and Provincialised Schools.
  11. For verification of qualification and other particulars of the candidates, a draft merit list will be published with a ratio of 2 candidates against one vacancy. Thereafter, after verification, a final merit list will be prepared from the draft merit list as per the outcome of the verification report and as per the merit in the draft merit list in the ratio of 1:1.
  12. Preparation of Merit list:
    • a) Merit list of candidates for Graduate Teacher/ Post Graduate Teacher shall be based on the total of marks obtained in the TET cum Recruitment Test and as per selection criteria mentioned in the earlier advertisement.
    • b) For selection of the last candidate or determining merit, where a specified number of candidates have to be selected, if two or more candidates have same marks, the following procedure shall be followed:
      • The candidate obtaining higher marks in the written examination shall be selected,
      • If selection could not be made after following the above process, the candidate with earlier date of birth shall be selected;
      • If the selection could not be made even after following the above process, the selection may be made by a draw of lots by the Director of Secondary Education, Assam.
  13. The candidate already got selection in the post of Post Graduate Teachers shall not be considered again for the post of Graduate Teachers.
  14. According to merit position, the vacancies of Government Schools will be filled first from the merit List and thereafter posts of Provincialised Schools will be filled.
  15. The other terms and conditions stipulated in the earlier advertisement will remain the same.
